Membership & Listserv, and the New Member Database!
Membership in NCAIE and its Listserv are free and open to all persons involved in international education in the State of North Carolina.
To be added to the membership roster, to subscribe or to unsubscribe to the NCAIE Listserv, send an email to Brad Sekulich, the NCAIE Past Chair and Listserv Manager, at sekulich@uncc.edu.
The NCAIE Board views the listserv as a discussion board for its members. Because of this philosophy, when you reply to a message, by default your message will be sent to the entire listserv. If you are intending to send a personal reply, please do not reply directly to a listserv posting.
The NCAIE listserv is now fully functioning and being hosted by UNC Charlotte. NCAIE Members can send a message to the Listserv at NCAIEORG-L@listserv.uncc.edu
NCAIE Membership Database - Create a profile! We are pleased to announce that the NCAIE online membership database is now live!
For over two decades, NCAIE has been an important network connecting international education professionals from all types of institutions across North Carolina. We hope this new membership database becomes an another useful tool for NCAIE members to conduct surveys, seek collaboration on new initiatives, or get an immediate answer to a desperate question. We welcome anyone who works directly or indirectly with International Education in North Carolina to create a profile and consider yourself a member of NCAIE. Then encourage your colleagues to create one too!
You can access the database here: http://members.ncaie.org
If it is your first time accessing the database, you will be prompted to create an account and set up your profile.
TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED
We anticipate members will primarily use this database to directly contact other professionals by a general field or specific area of experience. We plan on making additional updates to the database over the next year. After enough members have joined we will seek feedback on other uses would be most helpful.
Creating a Profile
After creating an account, you should set up your profile by selecting "My Profile" on the main menu. After filling out the basic information, you will be asked to define your professional responsibilities by the general NCAIE section (if applicable) and then by specific topics areas in which you currently or formerly have had experience. You do not have to be an expert to select this area, but you may be able to answer questions and respond to surveys.
Emailing by Section or Experience Area
On the "Members" page you will see options to contact members by NCAIE section or Experience Area. If you have a general question, it is probably best to email the broad NCAIE section. However, for more specific questions, you may want to target those members with direct experience in that area (community colleges, faculty-led study abroad, technology tools, etc.).
